Hey everybody! It's hard to believe it's already been almost 10 days since I've gotten here, because it still seems like I just got here yesterday! Things have been moving along perfectly! I've been meeting so many new friends, doing so many things around Walt Disney World, and having the time of my life in the process! I figured I'd give you guys some updates on what's been happening around here, so here we go!
First thing's first: I've got my new address! If you would be willing to send me stuff, such as postcards, letters, care packages, etc., don't be afraid to do so! My address is: 8237 Wesley Manor Court, Apt. #6201, Orlando, FL 32821
I look forward to getting stuff from people soon! And if you send me something, chances are you may get something in return from me!
I've made so many new friends here in the past week and a half! Each person always brings a different aspect of life and an even more unique personality to the table, so I'm glad to have these people become a part of my life as much as I have become part of theirs! Shoutouts go to my roomies, Josh, Dan, Alex, Devin, Ivan, Angel, and Savier; Casey; Ashley and Neely; Jordan, Savannah, and Montana; Kayla, Libby, Lex, Tabitha, Ashley and Amy; Hayley and Megan; Kara; Maria; Jocelyn, Rebecca, Diana, Abraham, Ricardo, Devin and Duncan; and the people I've met online and haven't met in person!!! You all have been absolutely amazing friends, and I couldn't ask for a better Disney family than the one I've got now! Thank you so much!

This past week, I've had orientation for my position on Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom, and I gotta say, it's been a heck of a week! Disney Traditions was last Friday, and I received my Mickey ears, my blue ID (which allows me to get into the parks for free!), and my nametag! Since then, orientation has mostly been a breeze, as I've been learning proper techniques on how Disney operations works. Tomorrow, I will be attending my third and final day of orientation, which will consist of a tour of my workplace on Main Street, and a trip to costuming to pick up my costumes! But the best part about all of this isn't that I got my Mickey ears, or that I got my nametag...it's that I CAN GET INTO THE PARKS FOR FREE NOW!!!!!!!!!
I've been taking full advantage of this, as I've been to all four parks (and then some) over the past 3 days!!! I've already collected all the park maps, and have begun checking off which rides, restaurants, and attractions I have been to so far! I even got to test out the new Seven Dwarfs' Mine Train this week before the opening! And on top of that, I've gotten my Hidden Mickey game on without even trying! I've been spotting these little guys left and right, and I don't even know where they are! My aunt and uncle got me a guidebook of Hidden Mickeys around the parks as an early birthday present, and I've used it maybe once or twice, but I've been keeping tabs in it to see how many Hidden Mickeys I've discovered! It's been a lot of fun!

This past Sunday, I got to spend the day with my dad at the Magic Kingdom! He was down in Walt Disney World for his 8th grade field trip called Sensations XD, in which they take a couple of roller coaster physics courses at Walt Disney World! So while his students were out having fun, him, his teaching buddy Mr. Feola, and myself all went to Pecos Bill's for lunch. After that, Mr. Feola had given me one of his Magic Bands to use as a fastpass for the Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowland, so me and dad went on that! Needless to say, we maxed out on our points halfway through the ride (with a little help from the ride stopping halfway through at a point where a certain target got us 100,000 points each time)! Hence, the bored picture! We both got to test out the Seven Dwarfs' Mine Train after that! My dad and I went on first, thanks to his fastpasses (kudos to Mr. Feola for letting me use his again!). The ride was absolutely fantastic! It seemed a lot like a family version of Big Thunder Mountain, but it was absolutely unique in and of itself! My dad and Mr. Feola then went on after we did, and of course, the ride broke down halfway through! My dad and Mr. Feola were stranded in the middle of the ride for close to a half hour, and had to have Disney cast members come rescue them. But I got to use my cast member discount at Disney stores for the first time, as I got my dad a polo shirt at the Emporium! It was a great day, and it's sad to see him leave, since that'll be my last interaction with my family until January. But I know I'll be fine on my own here, and I know he and my family are proud of me!
We had our first family dinner this week! Alex made a bunch of spicy chicken breasts, rice and noodles, and I made my breakfast cupcakes to compliment the meal! It turned out fantastic! We had a great time together just chowing down on some good food! Our friends Ashley and Neely came over and ate with us, and Ashley brought "We're the Millers" for a movie night afterwards! This is definitely the first of many more family dinners to come!
I finally had my "moment" yesterday night. I've been waiting ever since I arrived at Disney for the moment when I would see something, and I would burst out in happy tears, realizing I'm gonna be working at the happiest place on earth! Unfortunately, it hasn't occurred...until last night. Last night, I attended Wishes, the Magic Kingdom's firework spectacle, with some friends. This picture is the exact moment when I realized, "Wow, I'm gonna be looking at this sight for the next 8 months. I will be here, on Main Street, seeing these types of moments, for 8 months." And I cried the first tears of joy I've cried in a long time. It was such a beautiful moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life!
I truly am blessed to be working in such a magical place, making memories that will last a lifetime for our Guests from around the world! The opportunities I have discovered I will be able to attend here are limitless; the moments of families experiencing Disney for the first time I will cherish forever; and the memories I will be helping to create for children and adults alike are mindblowingly amazing! I'm so proud to call myself a Disney College Programmer! Until next time...always put your underwear on before your pants! See ya real soon!
